Dr. Ryan Morrison and Dr. Peter Nelson have been awarded an NSF award for $309,553 to improve river restoration design by researching the interactions between floodplain vegetation and river flows. The research will include a combination of physical modeling (performed at the Engineering Research Center), numerical modeling, and field work in coordination with the City of Fort Collins. This research will also engage with stakeholders by participating in numerous local outreach events, including the Poudre River Fest and the City’s “The Science Behind the Scenery” program.  Read More
