CEE alum elected President of the Southeast Asian Geotechnical Society

CSU alum Geoff Chao has been named President of the Southeast Asian Geotechnical Society (SEAGS). The society promotes collaboration between geotechnical associations across Southeast Asia. In the announcement of his election to the position, Chao was praised by the society for an “outstanding dedication, extensive expertise, and unwavering commitment to SEAGS.”

Chao earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from CSU under the advisement of CEE emeritus faculty John Nelson. He now serves as department head for the Department of Civil and Infrastructure Engineering as well as an Associate Professor of Geotechnical and Earth Resources Engineering at the Asian Institute of Technology.
