Aditi Bhaskar discusses Colorado’s water issues on KOA radio

Aditi BhaskarColorado radio station KOA interviewed Associate Professor Aditi Bhaskar June 3 about Colorado’s water usage and how we can adapt to climate change and population growth.

When asked if Colorado is being penny-wise and pound-foolish with how we’re investing in water, Bhaskar replied:

“Yes, because water is so central to our economy, it’s really critical to make sure we have that water supply going forward. All parts of our economy – our agriculture, recreation, skiing, rafting, cities, industry, brewing – getting all those communities together to spend some money to make sure we don’t have leaks in our system, we’re putting in money to get people to change their outdoor water use, to make sure we have efficient irrigation systems in agriculture – all these are important ways to spend money.”
