Colorado State University has joined forces with Boeing to expand systems engineering education opportunities for Boeing engineers, strengthening workforce development through curriculum engagement and collaborative learning.

This partnership stems from Boeing’s Digital & Systems Engineering (D&SE) Functional Chief Engineer’s Office initiative to identify top universities with strong systems engineering programs. CSU is one of six universities selected for their pilot program, which aims to enhance workforce skills through continuous engagement with academia, the increased integration of real-world industry experiences, and new learning opportunities.

“We are honored to partner with Boeing to advance systems engineering education across their engineering workforce,” said Tom Bradley, Woodward Professor and chair of the CSU Systems Engineering Department. “This collaboration aligns with our commitment to providing industry-relevant education that empowers professionals to address today’s complex engineering challenges.”

CSU’s Systems Engineering Department offers flexible graduate education pathways, including master’s and Ph.D. programs, as well as specialized graduate certificates, including one in the highly sought skill area of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). Designed for working professionals, these programs provide both online and in-person learning options, equipping students with the skills needed to excel in complex engineering environments. More details can be found at CSU Systems Engineering and CSU Systems Engineering Certificates.

Beyond its collaboration with Boeing, CSU maintains strong partnerships with leading organizations in the field. The department’s affiliation with the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) provides students and professionals with knowledge equivalency for INCOSE certifications, enhancing their credentials in the systems engineering discipline. The department is also a Project Management Institute (PMI) Authorized Training Partner to help students prepare for key project management certification exams.
