Engines and Energy lab Improving Transportation

Colorado State University has received a $1.7 million industry-government award to improve transportation in the nation’s natural gas pipeline system. CSU’s Engines and Energy Conservation Laboratory will develop an ignition system that can be retrofitted to the natural gas engines that drive compressors powering the nation’s natural gas delivery. Bryan Willson and his research team at the Engines & Energy Conversion Laboratory have also received grants recently to study laser ignition, friction reduction, and emissions control.
