The College of Engineering Student Fund Drive went full-steam ahead on Friday, February 11, 2005, when more than 75 energetic students, faculty and staff members gathered at Chipper's Lanes in north Fort Collins.

Those in attendance lit up the lanes as they bowled and enjoyed refreshments provided by the Engineering Development Office. One of the goals of the event was to foster college-wide relationships while also encouraging students to consider making a gift to a department or program area of their choice. Roxanne Fry, assistant director of development, shares, "We are thrilled both with the turnout and the results of this gathering. We were able to introduce our students to the mission and role of the Development Office while also educating our students about the importance of making a philanthropic commitment to the College."

Mike Conboy, a mechanical engineering student, was one of 15 students who made a contribution during the bowling event. In fact, he was one of several students who gave at the "$18.70 level," which recognizes the year that visionary pioneers laid the cornerstone for Colorado State University. Conboy shares, "The mechanical engineering Senior Design Practicum is more rigorous than many other schools, providing experiences that better prepare us for the transition to graduate school or industry. I want help ensure that future students get the same experiences."
