Wagner Equipment Provides Caterpillar Engine to EECL

Dr. Rudy Stanglmaier, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, has secured the gift of a model 3306 Caterpillar engine, valued at $35,000, from Wagner Equipment in Denver. The engine will be used to support teaching and research at the Engines and Energy Conversion Laboratory (EECL). The EECL's mission is to facilitate the development of new technologies for reducing the emissions and fuel consumption from engines and energy conversion processes.

Stanglmaier's research focuses on reducing pollutant emissions and improving fuel efficiency of internal combustion engines. He joined the faculty at Colorado State University in 2003.
