Students from Across the Country Attend Colorado State's Fall Engineering Careers Day
Over 230 high school students, parents and community members attended
Colorado State's fall Engineering Careers Day. The day-long informational
event has been hosted by the College of Engineering since 1985. This
fall the event drew prospective students from Colorado, California,
Kansas, Maryland, Texas and Wyoming.
Engineering Careers Day is college visit day that is free and open to
the public. Careers Day participants tour engineering laboratories,
participate in robotics and electronics demonstrations, discuss engineering
majors and careers with faculty and students and learn about undergraduate
life at Colorado State.
This
fall, more than 40 engineering faculty, staff and students volunteered
to help prospective students learn about the university's bio-resource
and agricultural, chemical, civil, electrical and computer, environmental,
engineering science and mechanical engineering programs.
Engineering students held panel discussions for participants, giving
prospective students the opportunity to learn about undergraduate life
at Colorado State. WMEP, the Women and Minorities in Engineering Program,
led a session on the academic and professional development services
available to CSU students. Resources were available for scholarship
information, advising and the university's financial aid program.
The spring Engineering Careers Day will be held on Saturday, February
15, 2003. Registration can be completed over the phone in advance or
in person on the day of the event.
