Colorado State University Opens New Magnetic Resonance Imaging Center

NMRI
The Rocky Mountain Magnetic Resonance Center will be using brand new nuclear magnetic resonance imaging equipment in their research.

Rocky Mountain Magnetic Resonance (RMMR) hosted an open house on Wednesday, Oct. 1, to celebrate the opening of its new inderdisciplinary research center. Tours and demonstrations in the Chemical Engineering Materials Imaging Lab were available, along with a poster session and a brief introduction to the lab by the director, Dr. A. Ted Watson.

Colorado State University created the RMMR center to foster the development and application of nuclear magnetic resonance and magnetic resonance imaging to a broad range of areas of great interest to science and society. The center represents all the major modalities of NMR: solid-state and high-resolution spectroscopy and imaging (whole-body and materials). Faculty researchers and staff from chemical engineering, chemistry and radiological health services form the core personnel.

RMMR is hosting a series of workshops titled "New Horizons in NMR" to acquaint the university and community with the new opportunities the center offers. RMMR will provide selected NMR services free of charge through its seed research program. It is also sponsoring a series of seminars about nuclear magnetic resonance principles and applications to promote community involvement.
