Colorado State University Invites High School Students and Community to Learn About Majors, Careers in Engineering

Colorado high school students, their parents and community members can learn about engineering majors and careers at Colorado State University's Engineering Careers Day from 9 a.m.-3:15 p.m. October 11, 2003. The informative event, free and open to the public, will be held in the Lory Student Center on Colorado State's campus, with the opening session taking place in the Engineering Building Auditorium.
Engineering Careers Day participants view laboratory demonstrations including robotics and electronics, discuss engineering majors and careers with faculty and students, and learn about undergraduate study life at Colorado State. Colorado State engineering professors will describe the university's bio-resource and agricultural, chemical, civil, electrical and computer, environmental, engineering science and mechanical engineering programs.
Afternoon panel discussions will give participants an opportunity to talk with current engineering students. In addition, a session geared primarily for women and minority students in engineering will be offered. Scholarships, advising and the university's financial aid program also will be discussed.
Registration can be completed over the phone or on-line in advance or in person until 9:00 a.m. the day of the event. On-line registration can be completed at http://www.engr.colostate.edu/adu/careersDayForm.cfm.
