Scott Scholars Candidate Receptions

Join us on campus at our candidate reception on January 16, 2026, to mingle with current Scott Scholars and other candidates, and learn more about the scholarship and program, how to apply, and tips to help you stand out in the application process.

Can’t make it to campus? Attend one of our virtual receptions! You’ll receive the same information and still have an opportunity to ask questions and connect with current Scholars, from anywhere you have an internet connection.

Scott Scholars Shadow Day

Candidates wanting a more immersive visit may consider attending the Scott Scholars Shadow Day offered on January 23, 2026, in Fort Collins. Shadow Day provides the same mingling and information as the candidate reception, plus the opportunity to attend classes, activities, and lunch at a CSU dining hall with a current Scott Scholar. After the event concludes, a variety of optional tours will be available for those interested.

Space is limited, so we recommend you register early.

Scott Scholars Social

Students who are offered the Walter Scott, Jr. Undergraduate Scholarship will be invited to attend the Scott Scholars Social. At the social you will meet your fellow 2025 Scott Scholars Cohort, interact with current Scott Scholars, and learn about exciting summer programs you can take part in. The day is filled with fun and begins your journey as a Scott Scholar even before your first day of school.
