Help us Engineer a World of Difference

We seek to generate new knowledge, improve quality of life, and positively impact society. To address that mission, the College works closely with campus colleagues, alumni, and friends to secure a bright future for the College.

Don and Susie Law

Engineering Future Technologies Building

The 165,000-square-foot Don and Susie Law Engineering Future Technologies Building will dynamically enhance student
learning at CSU, expanding our excellence in education and research.

We are fortunate to pursue this opportunity because of the original vision and dedicated naming gift from Don and Susie Law, the generosity of CSU students, and a transformational support from the Walter Scott Family Foundation.

We invite you to join us to maximize the potential of this cutting-edge facility for the benefit of our students and their educational success.

Integration of artificial intelligence into engineered systems is the frontier of engineering/computer science, enabling such technologies as autonomous vehicles, smart infrastructure and home-care robots.
Every engineering student will build experiences and skills through a learning community of hands-on advanced manufacturing, digital engineering, and practical innovation.
This space would accommodate engineers and students from other disciplines who need 3D printers, laser cutters and other equipment to develop a prototype. From concept to creation, these tools will help students bring their ideas to life to solve complex engineering challenges.
Generously funded by the Campos Foundation, this will be a supportive gathering space for students - particularly first-generation students - to build community and learn together.

Student success:

Belonging, Support, and  Hands‑On Learning

We prepare engineers through a common first-year built on belonging, support, and hands-on learning.

As of Fall 2025, every engineering student at CSU shares a first-year experience designed around three core principles: A common engineering foundation, support that meets students where they are, and hands-on learning from day one.

A common engineering foundation

Engineering is a “doing” profession. In CSU’s makerspaces, students design and test in hands-on learning labs, gain digital transformation skills such as AI, and develop professional power skills.

Hands-on learning from day one

New courses on Fundamentals of Engineering, Engineering for Grand Challenges. Students gain hands-on competence, cohort community, and explore every major.

Support that meets students where they are

Dedicated advising, tutoring, and strong peer networks so students stay supported, challenged, and connected.
