Master’s and doctoral students are invited to celebrate this milestone with a traditional ceremony alongside their peers.

Spring 2026

University Commencement

There are two events for graduates to attend: the University-wide Commencement and a recognition ceremony grouped by academic unit. Please make a note of these dates as you make your commencement plans.

University-wide Commencement

Saturday, May 16
10–11:30 a.m.
Campus parking will not be restricted on Friday and Saturday for commencement events, but road closures will be in place around Canvas Stadium for University-wide Commencement on Saturday, May 16.
Moby Arena and Canvas Stadium have security policies in place for all events, including Commencement ceremonies. This includes metal detectors, clear bag policies, and permitted items. Please review attendance details on the University Commencement site.
This includes disabilities, as defined by the ADA, and it also includes accessible efforts for people who are hypersensitive to sensory inputs, parents of small children, and many others who may request accommodations.

Session 1:

8-10 a.m.

  • Students can check in at the Auxiliary Gym starting at 7:00 a.m., but should plan to arrive no later than 7:10 a.m.
  • Graduating students Moby Entrance Map. Graduates should enter Moby from the southeast corner of the Auxiliary Gym at Moby Arena. The Auxiliary Gym is the attached building located south of Moby.
  • Please bring only necessary items, as the University’s Clear Bag Policy will be strictly enforced in Moby, and all graduates will go through metal detectors when you arrive for check in at the Auxilary Gym. There will not be a place to store coats or bags
  • You must have your regalia (cap, gown, and tassel) with you. If you are a master’s graduate, you should also have a hood.
  • When you check in at your department table, you will be asked to review your name card which you will hand to the announcer as you cross the stage. This is your opportunity to check and correct the following:
    • Degree listed
    • Spelling of your name
    • Latin distinction
    • Contact information for GradImages to receive proofs of photographs taken of you as you receive your diploma cover (optional).
    • Provide phonetic spelling of your name. Here is a phonetic pronunciation guide.
  • We ask that all graduating students meet their family and friends outside of Moby following the ceremony, so that CSU is able to prepare the arena for the remaining ceremonies.

Session 2:

12-1:30 p.m.
