Mechanical Engineering

Student Ambassadors

The Mechanical Engineering Student Ambassadors (MESA) host office hours throughout the semester to provide free individual and small group tutoring for all courses in the MECH curriculum. They can also assist with other questions related to being a successful MECH student!

Throughout the semester, keep an eye out for events they host, such as review sessions leading up to major exams.

Meet our Staff

Kameron Jones

My name is Kameron Jones and I am a senior in Mechanical Engineering. This is my third school year as a MESA tutor, and I love the connections I've made with other Mechies as they progress through the program. Apart from engineering, I enjoy snowboarding, hiking, mountain biking, skateboarding, and ice hockey. I am a part of the CSU Snowriders and I jump at every opportunity to go into the mountains. I’m excited for the opportunity to share my experience as I look forward to graduation.

Alex Tongren

My name is Alex Tongren and I am a fourth-year mechanical engineering student on the pre-med route. My favorite courses at CSU have been MECH 200, 344, and Calc 3 because these classes really helped me fall in love with the complexities of engineering. Besides school, I enjoy playing basketball at the rec, mountain biking, working out, and spending time with friends. Engineering is an exciting and rewarding field, and I'm thrilled to share my passion for it with you!

Bree Rahbari

I am a fourth year Mechanical Engineering major graduating in Fall 2026, and a first generation student. My favorite class so far has been MECH 344, Fluid Mechanics, because although it was a very challenging course, it showed me that I am able to apply myself and succeed in subjects I at first found difficult as well as it being a good introduction to real engineering problems. Outside of school, I work at a coffee shop, but in my free time I love drawing and painting as well as taking care of my cat named Salem!pe

Erica Lambrecht

Hi! My name is Erica, and I am a third-year Mechanical Engineering major with a minor in Mathematics. My favorite classes so far have been Differential Equations and MECH 202. I enjoy hiking, skiing, listening to music, and spending time with friends!

Erik Olsson

I am a senior mechanical engineering student and plan on graduating next spring. I enjoy the designing, manufacturing, and ideation aspects of engineering the most. Outside of school I like to go fishing, snowboarding, and mountain biking. Mechanical engineering classes can be difficult so l am always eager to help out fellow classmates!

Joshua Smith

My name is Joshua Smith. I am a senior Mechanical Engineering major with a minor in Computer Science, and this is my second semester as a MESA tutor. My favorite courses so far have been mechatronics, intro to manufacturing, and other project-based classes. I love the designing and creation aspect of engineering.
