Policy Violation

Violations of the Engineering Lab Policies and Loaner Item Policies will result in the following actions:

  1. The first violation will result in the closing of the user's account, including login privileges and card reader access, until the user meets in person with an ENS staff member, preferably the ENS staff member who closes the account. (Users receive an email to their Engineering account about the violation.)
  2. The second violation will result in the closing of the user's account for 24 hours and a meeting with the ENS Client Services Manager or the ENS Help Desk Coordinator.
  3. The third violation will result in:
    1. The closing of the user's account for 48 hours;
    2. A meeting with the Assistant Dean for Operations;
    3. An hour of community service in the ENS computer labs; and
    4. A notification sent to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.
  4. The fourth violation will result in the closing of the user's account for one week and a meeting with the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.
  5. The fifth violation will result in the closing of the user's account for the remainder of the semester and a combined meeting with the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, the ENS Client Services Manager and/or the ENS staff member involved, and the student's academic advisor.

Faculty and Staff violations will result in the following actions

  1. The first violation will result in the same actions as the student violation above with the addition of the supervisor being notified.
  2. The second violation will result in the same actions as the student violation with the addition of the Dean being notified.
  3. Any subsequent violations will result in the account being closed and the Dean being notified.
