Amanda Lager Gleason

Graduate Program Specialist

Mechanical Engineering

Amanda Lager Gleason has worked in a variety of roles supporting engineering students, including undergraduate and graduate advising and STEM fellowships advising. She is passionate about helping students think critically about and become engaged collaborators in navigating academic, co-curricular, and career experiences to enhance their education. 

Additionally, she is advocate for higher education staff development through involvement in college staff councils and university office professional associations. She is actively involved in NACADA, the Global Community for Academic Advising, including being elected to the 2022-2024 Class of the Emerging Leaders Program and as 2023-2025 Chair of the Advising Community on Graduate and Professional Students. 

She is an alumna of the University of South Carolina where she completed a bachelor’s in English Language and Literature with a minor in French. She also attended the University of Central Florida where she earned a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and the University of Nebraska at Kearney where she earned a Master of Science in Education in Higher Education Student Affairs.
