Mechanical Engineering

In 2025, Brian Johns joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Colorado State University. Over the past decade, he has taught more than twenty unique courses at institutions across the United States and abroad. His previous roles include Department Chair of Physics & Engineering at Cornell College and Curriculum Chief of Systems Engineering at the United States Air Force Academy.

Research Interests

Brian’s current research focuses on integrating artificial intelligence with software applications to streamline complex engineering design processes. His engineering portfolio spans projects from virtual-reality surgical simulators to defense systems. His interests encompass mechanical and electrical engineering, software development, and systems integration.
