Jarrett receives Gurthet Teaching Faculty Award from AISC
Congratulations to Teaching Assistant Professor Jordan Jarrett for receiving the H. Louis Gurthet Teaching Faculty Award from the American Institute of Steel Construction!
The award honors a teaching-focused faculty member in a university civil engineering, architectural engineering, architecture, construction engineering, or construction management department. The award is named for former AISC President and Board of Directors member, Lou Gurthet, and was established to recognize those who build a brighter future by supporting tomorrow’s leaders.
Jarrett teaches courses in steel design and structural loads in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at CSU. She serves as faculty co-advisor for the CSU student chapter of ASCE and faculty advisor for the CSU Steel Bridge Team. Jarrett also serves on the Board of Directors of the Structural Engineers Association of Colorado (SEAC) and is an active member of the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE), American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), and the National Council of Structural Engineers Associations (NCSEA).
The award will be presented at The Steel Conference in Atlanta, Georgia on April 22.
