Teaching Assistant Professor, Civil and Environmental Engineering

Jordan Jarrett is a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department. She has taught courses in Statics, Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Engineering Materials, Structural Analysis, Structural Loads and Codes, and Steel Design. Jarrett received her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University. She then earned her Ph.D. at Virginia Tech, where her research focused on the seismic analysis of steel structures using the principles of performance based design (PBD). Prior to joining CSU, she worked as a structural engineering consultant in Seattle for nearly 7 years, followed by one year at Seattle University as a Lecturer. She is a licensed Professional Engineer in Colorado, California, and Washington. Her consulting experience focused on the design of steel and concrete structures subjected to high seismicity or extreme wind climates, including high-rise towers up to 1,000 feet tall. Jarrett combines her practical experience and love of teaching to create classroom environments tailored to preparing students for their future careers and inspiring them to be lifelong learners.
