President
Brenton Yasuoka
Aloha! My name is Brenton Yasuoka. I am a fourth year in the Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering program. The double major drew my attention because I honestly couldn’t decide on whether to just get a Biomedical Degree or a Mechanical Degree, so I said why not just get both. After a few years in school, I am definitely happy with my decision to get both degrees as I see that it will prepare me for my dreams of designing prosthetics. When I am not doing schoolwork or BMES obligations you can find me 3D modelling and printing, hiking, snowboarding, or biking.
Vice President
Mya Lewis
Hi! My name is Mya Lewis, and I will be serving as Vice President this year. I am a third-year student at CSU dual majoring in BME and MECH. This past summer I interned as a manufacturing engineer at WaveCel, a helmet technology startup. During this time, I worked alongside others to optimize processes on the floor to increase efficiency and ensure high-quality. In my free time, I enjoy playing volleyball, hanging out with friends, and watching TV shows. I look forward to a great year!
Treasurer
Gabby Ringling
Hello! My name is Gabby Ringing, and I am serving as the treasurer for the 2024-25 school year! I am a third-year student at CSU studying Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering. Since I was a kid, I always enjoyed understanding how the human body operates. I loved trying to brainstorm different solutions that would improve the functions. In my spare time I love hanging out with my friends, going skiing/snowboarding, or unwinding with some video games. I look forward to an amazing year with everyone!
Communications Director
Alyssa Basaldua
Howdy! My name is Alyssa Basaldua. I am a fourth-year student studying Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering, and the Communications Director for the Colorado State University BMES student chapter. Summer of 2024, I studied abroad in Ecuador partnering with ROMP and manufactured more accessible prosthetics to the lower-developed countries. Aside from engineering, I am a Collegiate Triathlete, proudly representing CSU and attained the status of USAT National Qualifier in April 2024. My goal for the upcoming school year is to inspire future engineers to seek an active, social, and academic balance to maintain a healthy, student-engineering lifestyle.
Industry Director
Jacy Butler
Hello! My name is Jacy Butler. I am a third-year student in the Biomedical and Chemical/Biological Engineering program at CSU, serving as Industry Director for our student chapter of BMES. I currently work at BioMARC, a contract bio-pharmaceutical development and manufacturing company, and in a research lab studying the metabolic pathways of various microbes in relation to drug therapeutics. I hope to continue investigating the biotech & pharmaceutical industry through an engineering lens to improve and innovate the way we provide healthcare. Apart from school and work, I enjoy snowboarding, climbing, competing in IM soccer and volleyball, and lifting! I’m stoked to represent BMES and hope to meet you all soon!
Outreach Director
Zoey Blase
Hello! My name is Zoey Blase and I am this year’s outreach director. I am a 4th year Biomedical Mechanical Engineering student with experience in manufacturing and test engineering. Over the summer I interned for Otter Products as a test engineering intern and during the school year I am an undergraduate TA for the manufacturing lab at CSU. When I’m not doing school, I love being outside with my dog, hanging out with friends, and making jewelry! I’m beyond excited to be the outreach director and I can’t wait to meet everyone.
ECC Representative
Natalie Green
Hello! I’m Natalie Green and I’m going into my third year as a biomedical and mechanical engineering student. For this upcoming year, I’m serving as the ECC representative for BMES. I have worked in the Orthopaedic Bioengineering Research Lab and shadowed at the Prosthetics & Orthotic Group with hopes to become a certified prosthetist and orthotist. Outside of school and work, I like to bake and spend time outside and with friends. I’m excited for this upcoming year and the connections that will be made for myself and BMES as a whole.
