The Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) student chapter at Colorado State University is a professional society open to all students interested in the vast field of bioengineering. BMES is open to both grad students and undergrads of all majors.

About BMES

Our Mission is to build and support the biomedical engineering community, locally, nationally and internationally, with activities designed to communicate recent advances, discoveries, and inventions; promote education and professional development; and integrate the perspectives of the academic, medical, governmental, and business sectors.

Our Industry Programs involve events that promote the students’ direct participation with industry, such as site tours of company facilities, and presentations given by industry members about their academic and professional journeys, and their respective companies. Our Social Programs are held with the goal of promoting friendly connection between our students in a fun, engaging arena, including events such as our Semester Kick-Off and our Group Study Nights.

To become more involved with the community, BMES CSU actively participates in outreach events that promote STEM fields by providing demonstrations and educating children about the fun in science and engineering, and devoting time to helping elderly members of the Fort Collins community.

The Biomedical Engineering Society at Colorado State University is excited to announce that it will be hosting a Virtual Outreach Program for middle school students interested in learning more about Biomedical Engineering! We will be putting together kits for three separate activities which we will then teach virtually during two workshops on April 24th and April 25th from 12:30 to 2:30pm. If you are interested you can register here!

To support our events, BMES puts on a number of fundraisers, including helping with RamRide, Landmark Event Staffing, and more. If you are interested in donating or helping fundraise, contact us at bmes@colostate.edu.

We’re so glad you’re interested in BMES! Feel free to come check out one of our general meetings to see what we’re all about, or email us any questions you have.

Dues are currently $5 a semester. With your dues you will get a BMES T-shirt, a care package, and priority information about about events.

Our weekly meets are held on Mondays, at 5pm. Due to COVID-19 precautions, all of our events are currently being held virtually, via Microsoft Teams. Make sure to join our mailing list to get event reminders and meeting links for our weekly meetings!
