Mechanical Engineering

Thomas Weis earned his Bachelor of Technology in Wildlife Management from SUNY Cobleskill and his Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a STEM concentration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

As an Academic Advisor in Mechanical Engineering at Colorado State University, Thomas is passionate about helping students feel seen, supported, and capable of success. He supports students through education abroad, mentors students through academic and personal challenges, and supervises the Mechanical Engineering Student Ambassadors (MESA), expanding access to peer tutoring and academic resources.

Thomas is deeply committed to inclusion and belonging within STEM education and actively supports initiatives that foster equitable student experiences. He values collaboration with colleagues and strives to create environments where students can build confidence and community.

When he’s not advising, Thomas enjoys visiting National Parks, tending to his growing collection of houseplants, traveling with his partner, and cooking meals that bring people together.
