Nelson Isaacson
Undergraduate Teaching Labs Engineer
Mechanical Engineering
Nelson is a jack-of-all-trades engineer, a self-described tinkerer who is fascinated by the inner workings of different systems. He’s worked in several fields and projects such as 3D-printed bone graft development, flow cytometry spectral analyzers, automated case packing systems, and more. Outside of work, he can often be found spending time with his wife and dogs or in his home workshop diving into new rabbit holes. Nelson is originally from northeastern Minnesota; he and his wife have lived in Fort Collins since 2019.
Nelson primarily supervises the Mechatronics Lab and Materials Lab spaces in the Mechanical Engineering Teaching Labs. When he’s not directly supporting students or those spaces, you can usually find him exploring new ideas for lab experiments, projects, or ways to streamline learning experiences.
