James Tillotson

Teaching Instructor

Mechanical Engineering

James is interested in engineering intersection between manufacturing and energy, human health, automotive, and aerospace. He finds joy in connecting the technical aspects of engineering and manufacturing to the human experience, pairing scalable design with those who will benefit most. He takes his passion and sense of enthusiastic curiosity with him to every new challenge.

James studied manufacturable low emissions cookstoves for the developing world for his Masters.

James grew up on a small ranch in Nunn Colorado. His greatest accomplishment is his marriage with Cadie – James says he got the good end of the deal for sure. Together Cadie and James are building a home and the next generation together, he is the father of two daughters and one son who are full of delight and have, more than anyone, taught him to see the world through eyes of curious wonder. It is a privilege to raise them, and he is excited to see what will bring them joy in the future.
