Dr. Jacob Turner
Assistant Professor
Mechanical Engineering
Dr. Turner is an assistant professor of computational fluid dynamics in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He attained his PhD from the University of Southampton in 2019 focusing on airfoil-turbulence interaction noise and noise reduction from leading-edge serrations. Prior to coming to Colorado State University, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University where he carried out research on compressible flows and aeroelasticity. He has also worked as a postdoctoral scholar at the Institute of Sounds and Vibration Research (ISVR) at the University of Southampton.
Dr. Turner’s research at CSU focuses on high-fidelity numerical simulations of aerospace applications including high-speed flows, aircraft noise, aerodynamics, propulsion and fluid-structure interaction.
