Jacob Turner

Assistant Professor

Mechanical Engineering

Dr. Turner is an Assistant Professor of Computational Fluid Dynamics in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He earned his PhD from the University of Southampton in 2019, specializing in airfoil noise modeling and control using leading-edge serrations. Prior to joining Colorado State University in August 2024, he held a postdoctoral appointment at the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR), conducting research in aeroacoustics, and subsequently at Johns Hopkins University, where his work centered on high-speed aerodynamics and aeroelasticity.

Dr. Turner leads the Computational AeroMechanics Group (CAMG) at CSU, where his research focuses on high-fidelity numerical simulations of aerospace problems, including aircraft noise, aerodynamics and aeroelasticity.
