Amanda Lager Gleason has worked in a variety of roles supporting engineering students, including undergraduate and graduate advising and STEM fellowships advising. She is passionate about helping students think critically about and become engaged collaborators in navigating academic, co-curricular, and career experiences to enhance their education. Her research interests include support networks for and advising of STEM students and primary-role advising of graduate students.

Additionally, she is an advocate for higher education staff development through involvement in college staff councils and university office professional associations. She actively serves as a member of NACADA, the Global Community for Academic Advising, including being elected to the 2022-2024 Class of the Emerging Leaders Program and as 2023-2025 Chair of the Advising Community on Graduate and Professional Students.
