Adjunct Associate Teaching Professor

Mechanical Engineering

Dr. Montgomery has been an adjunct member of the Department of Mechanical Engineering since August 2018, his research involvement with CSU started in 2006. 

He has 20 years of experience in industry (Johnson/Evinrude and Caterpillar) focused on engine research and development. His work has resulted in more than 17 conference and journal papers and 23 issued and pending patents.

He manages the Natural Gas and Alternative Fuels Research group at Caterpillar. As part of his work at Caterpillar, he is the manager of the Caterpillar/CSU Cat Lab at the EECL, which currently involves 6 graduate and undergraduate students. He teaches a “Industrial Natural Gas and Dual-Fuel Engines” course at CSU.
