We can survive 3 weeks without food, 3 days without water, but only 3 minutes without air. Poor air quality is the number one environmental risk factor for premature death globally, yet so many people are still unaware of the magnitude of its importance. It’s my job to help people “see the air” they breath, and appreciate it for the lifegiving wonder it is.

Research Interests

I’m on several projects aimed at reducing personal exposure to air pollution and better understanding the effects of different air contaminants. I’m examining the chemical speciation of ambient air samples collected during and following the 2025 LA wildland/urban interface wildfires, looking at VOC concentrations within the infamous ‘cancer ally’ of southern Louisiana, and assessing the effect of an LPG intervention on personal PM2.5 exposures within a rural Rwandan community.
