Food-Energy-Water Systems
Gain a transdisciplinary understanding of the science at the nexus of food-energy-water systems, including a working knowledge of socio-economic constraints and policy issues across sectors.
- Offered on-campus only
- 9 credit hours
- Admission requirements:
- Candidates should have a BS in civil or environmental engineering, life sciences, or natural sciences from an accredited institution
- Candidates without a BS in one of these fields may be required to take additional required background courses
- International applicants must submit English proficiency test scores meeting University minimums

Coming Fall 2024
Learn the core competencies of being a hydraulic engineer, such as leading hydraulic design projects from concept to implementation.
- Offered 100% online or on-campus
- 9 credit hours
- Admission requirements:
- Candidates should have a BS in civil or environmental engineering, life sciences, or natural sciences from an accredited institution
- Candidates without a BS in one of these fields may be required to take additional required background courses
- A basic hydraulics course (CIVE 401 or equivalent) is recommended prior to admission
- International applicants must submit English proficiency test scores meeting University minimums
- Candidates should have a BS in civil or environmental engineering, life sciences, or natural sciences from an accredited institution
Understand the nuances of tailings and mine waste concepts and practice environmental stewardship of mine waste at each step, from planning to closure, and the remediation of mine sites post-closure.

- 12 credit hours
- Admission requirements:
- Candidates should have a BS in civil or environmental engineering, mining engineering, geological engineering, or geosciences from an accredited institution
- Candidates without a BS in one of these fields may be required to take additional required background courses
- A basic soil mechanics course (CIVE 355/356 or equivalent) is strongly recommended prior to admission
- International applicants must submit English proficiency test scores meeting University minimums
- Candidates should have a BS in civil or environmental engineering, mining engineering, geological engineering, or geosciences from an accredited institution
