Accelerated Master's Program (AMP)

Maximize Your Education

Planning to pursue a graduate degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering? Save time by enrolling in our Accelerated Master’s Program (AMP) and begin taking graduate courses while completing your bachelor’s degree at CSU!

What is AMP?

The Accelerated Master’s Program (AMP) allows current Civil and Environmental Engineering undergraduate students to reduce the time required to complete both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree.

Students can use up to nine credits of regular 500-level civil engineering courses to simultaneously fulfill the requirements of their undergraduate and graduate degrees.

Courses must be passed with a grade of B or better and satisfy the requirements for both undergraduate and graduate programs.

Are you eligible for AMP?

To be considered for AMP, all students must:

  • Be a current CSU student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
  • Have completed 90 credit hours towards the bachelor’s degree including 15 credit hours in civil and environmental engineering courses (CIVE prefix)
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (for Master of Engineering applicants) or 3.25 (for Master of Science applicants) and maintain the minimum GPA through their senior year
Students seeking a Master of Science degree must also:
  • Receive a commitment from a Civil and Environmental Engineering faculty member to serve as their graduate advisor

AMP Timeline and Application Process

Interested students should meet with the CEE Graduate Advisor preferably during the junior year, but no later than the first semester of the senior year. The timing of your application will impact when you will be able to begin the program, so schedule your meeting to discuss the program early!
