The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) issues permits to local governments and other organizations (such as CSU) to manage stormwater discharges. The municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) permit requires CSU to manage stormwater discharges by implementing a variety of activities such as education and outreach, construction site management, permanent stormwater control measures, good housekeeping, managing illicit discharges, among others.
Olson and Wright Water Engineers are currently managing the MS4 permit for CSU. In this presentation, we will discuss various aspects of the MS4 permit and the roles that engineers and scientists serve in meeting the permit requirements.
