van de Lindt to receive resilience award from ASCE
The American Society of Civil Engineers’s Committee on Technical Advancement has selected Professor John van de Lindt to receive the 2024 Vilas Mujumdar Resilience Award. van de Lindt was selected for his “advancements in resilience research for communities to mitigate the adverse effects of natural hazards.”
“Overall the award is a true honor to receive and recognizes the importance of resilience for communities that are suffering from climate induced hazards, and the effects of more acute hazards such as tornadoes, earthquakes, and hurricanes and struggle to recover,” said van de Lindt. “I’ve been so fortunate to have great colleagues to collaborate with over the last several decades and students to work with, many of who are in academia now working on their own projects, and with their own students!”
The award will be presented during ASCE’s annual convention next fall in Seattle, Washington.
