“The Irrigation E3 program presented an unparalleled platform for immersing myself in the latest technologies, innovations, and best practices in the irrigation industry,” said Amankwaa. “I explored cutting-edge solutions for water conservation, explored new design and installation techniques, and gained insights from industry leaders.”

Amankwaa’s Ph.D. research focuses on supporting researchers and extension professionals in Western Colorado utilizing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs or drones) technology and remote sensing to estimate evapotranspiration and allow producers to optimize production, reduce costs, and protect the environment.

Originally from Ghana, Amankwaa came to CSU to for the strong water focus in the department.

In my quest for a recognized doctoral university with high research activity in agricultural water management, CSU’s Ph.D. in Civil Engineering program loomed large in my mind, mainly because of its outstanding faculty and the focus on studying Water Engineering and Science as a social practice,” said Amankwaa.
