Ryan Morrison

Associate Professor, Civil and Environmental Engineering

Ryan Morrison joined the CEE department in August 2016. Morrison’s research focuses on environmental flows and riverscape modifications. Specifically, his research has been centered on sustainably integrating ecological and human needs into water resource management, both from engineering and social science perspectives. His work emphasizes the impacts of river management on aquatic ecosystems while exploring new methods for mitigating management effects. Morrison earned his B.S. (2005) and M.S. (2006) degrees in civil engineering from Washington State University, and his Ph.D. (2014) degree in civil engineering from the University of New Mexico. Prior to joining CSU, he was a research engineer at the U.S. Geological Survey and also worked as a water resources engineer in Portland, Oregon. Morrison is currently an associate editor for the Journal of the American Water Resources Association and a licensed professional engineer. He is looking forward to contributing to CSU’s tradition of excellent research in water resource engineering.
