About ETS Student Employment

ETS employs 10 full time staff and approximately 30 students to support all computing needs for the Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering. These positions assist the general staff of ETS by maintaining the computer labs throughout the many Engineering buildings as well as providing computer services to faculty, staff and students.

Employment Opportunities - we are currently hiring for the following positions:

Student Lab Assistants

Clean, stock and maintain the computer labs & electronic classrooms across all buildings in the College in a rotation or in zones as assigned. Update and replace lab signage when necessary. Assist clients with plotter operation. Perform routine computing tasks and troubleshooting associated with clients and/or lab operation.

Student Lab Techs

Description: Help install, maintain and support server and PC hardware, PC software, thin clients, and audio/visual equipment in the Engineering College computer labs & electronic classrooms. Assist clients with lab/classroom software and equipment. Assist clients with plotter operation.

Student Support Assistants

Description: Staff the ETS Help Desk (Glover, Academic Village, and Magellan locations) and provide technical support via email, phone and walk-in assistance. Perform routine software tasks and troubleshooting. Help maintain loaner pool. Assist clients with plotter operation.

Student Support Techs

Description: Help install, maintain and support hardware and software on faculty/staff/graduate student desktop computers. Provide Tier II support for the ETS Help Desk (Glover, Academic Village, and Magellan locations) and provide technical support via email, phone and walk-in assistance. Assist clients with Engineering and Office software.

Student App Programmer

Create and maintain web-based and non web-based software tools for use by Engineering Technology Services (ETS) staff for internal purposes and potentially for Engineering users in general.
