Dr. Reed Hollinger
Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering
Bio
Prof. Hollinger joined the ECE department in 2023 as an assistant professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Previously, he worked as a research scientist at CSU’s Center for Advanced Lasers and Extreme Photonics. His primary research is on ultraintense laser-matter interactions, which generate some of the highest energy density plasmas on earth. These plasmas can be used for secondary sources such as MeV x-rays for radiography, beams of charged particles, and neutron sources. This work is also directly related to efforts in inertial fusion energy.
Work in the lab is heavily multidisciplinary, with an emphasis on engineering and applied physics. We are always looking for talented, hands-on researchers to join us as we build our next state of the art laser facility.
