Science and art will collide during a special performance by composer Benjamin Skepper on Sept. 8 at Colorado State University that transforms real gravitational wave data into a live music experience.
The free event – titled “WAVES: Listening to the Cosmos” – will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Griffin Concert Hall in the University Center for the Arts. This will be the world premiere of the immersive and multi-dimensional sound experience from Skepper and celebrates the 10th anniversary of humanity’s first detection of gravitational waves. The event is sponsored by the Departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Physics as well as the School of Music, Theatre and Dance and the LVK Gravitational Wave Detectors International collaboration.
The event is free and open to the public.
Online participation is FREE for LVK members. Zoom links will be distributed a few days before the conference to the email provided in the registration form.
Note: The “U.S. State” field is required during registration. If you are an international registrant, please select Alabama as your state.
