Jacob Turner

Jacob Turner is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Colorado State University. He leads the Computational Aeromechanics Group, which focuses on developing and applying novel CFD approaches to simulate compressible fluid flows, unsteady aerodynamics, aeroacoustics, and aeroelasticity problems.

His current projects leverage high-order immersed boundary methods to investigate fluid-structure interactions, supersonic bluff body flows, and noise generation in both aircraft and automotive applications. He obtained his PhD in 2019 from the Aerodynamics and Flight Mechanics Group at the University of Southampton, where he investigated airfoil-turbulence interaction noise and explored noise mitigation through bio-inspired leading-edge serrations.

Following his PhD, he held postdoctoral positions at the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research and at Johns Hopkins University in the Flow Physics and Computation Lab.
