Pump-probe microscopy of cytochrome

Abstract: Pump-probe microscopy or transient absorption microscopy can trace transient states of molecules through the transient absorption of ultrafast laser pulses. Therefore TA measured from the pump-probe microscopy offers another degree of freedom for molecular specificity. My previous work focuses on building a pump-probe microscope that can lower the photo damaging by having a fast line scanning rate, and has enhanced SNR by utilizing adaptive filter.
My next step is to utilize supercontinuum generation from photonic crystal fiber to generate tunable pump and probe wavelengths for better contrast between reduced and oxidized cytochrome.
