Abstract: The high quality beam electron beam properties required to produce the proposed sub-Angstrom MaRIE XFEL within the real estate restrictions at the proposed location necessitates novel linac design. This presenation aims to present an overview of the deleterious collective effects that arise in the production of transversely coherent electron bunches operating in the high-gain regime, as well as novel accelerator component design meant to minimize these effects.
