Using a portable emissions measurement system (courtesy of Lightning Hybrids, Loveland), we recently tested three VW TDI diesel Jettas to investigate pollutant emissions during on-road tests. We found that all Jettas met the EPA and California’s emissions standard for carbon monoxide (CO) and particulate matter (PM) but exceeded the emissions standard for oxides of nitrogen (NOx). Our work and findings were highlighted in a news segment on CBS Denver.
