Fabrication and Finishing

We have many fabrication and finishing methods available to our students. In addition to our ability to process sheet goods using our many rolling, shearing and bending machines, the EMEC is also equipped with a paint booth, a bead blaster, several vibratory tumblers and a variety of machines used for abrading and deburring.

When welding is needed, we possess both the expertise the apparatuses to perform GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, Oxy-Acetylene, Spot and other welding and brazing techniques. We also employ Plasma and Oxy-Acetylene cutting when we cannot use our more standard separating equipment such as our horizontal and vertical band saws to process a piece of stock.

Depending on needs and availability, a small heat treating furnace is also available for student use, with director of facilitator supervision.
