The Engineering Manufacturing Education Center (EMEC) at Colorado State University, is an instructional and practical laboratory used by the Department of Mechanical Engineering; its primary function is to support the core curriculum and experiential learning of undergraduate students.

Throughout their time in our program, students receive instruction in manufacturing best practices and methods, while working on sanctioned projects and class activities in this Laboratory. This facility also supports the research activities of the faculty and graduate students in our department.

The EMEC is staffed by two full-time instructors, the Director and the Facilitator, as well as several work-study employees or laboratory assistants.

Our Mission

To facilitate the growth of budding Mechanical Engineers through the instruction and practical application of core engineering skills in a realistic manufacturing setting.

Our goal is to guide our students to the successful completion of their scholastic endeavors by using a hands-on approach, in what is considered one of the safest labs on campus.
