We have several pieces of CNC equipment manufactured by Haas Automation, the largest machine tool manufacturer in the United States. In a teaching environment such as this, it is necessary to find equipment that is both robust and affordable in order to give our students the quality of education that they seek to earn and Haas machines do just that.
The EMEC has three (3) Vertical Machining Centers or VMCs that have the ability to handle a wide range of working envelope constraints.
- The TM-3P has a max travel of 16.5″ x 20″ x 40″ in z, y and x respectively
- The TM-3P has a max travel of 16.5″ x 16″ x 40″ in z, y and x respectively
- The TM-1P has a max travel of 16″ x 12″ x 30″ in z, y and x respectively
The EMEC also has a toolroom lathe from Haas that has the following part constraints:
- Swing diameter of 8″
- 3″ through spindle bore
- 30″ max, in machine, length.
We are continually updating our equipment and looking at future trends in machine tool capabilities to meet our growing student needs and technical requirements. For inquiries about machine needs or constraints for a project that you are unsure will fit in our machines, drop by and ask, as there are many times that we can figure out a way to run them!
Remember, you MUST have a completed process sheet and engineering drawings of all components that you would like to run on the CNC machining centers. These MUST be approved by Doc or other approved shop staff members.
