2025 Children’s Water Festival

This week, our team joined hundreds of middle school students at the Children’s Water Festival at the Adams County Fairgrounds in Brighton, CO.
We guided students through interactive activities designed to spark curiosity and deepen understanding of water systems:

Hydroflume Activity: Students explored how water can be used to do work, how water flow design structure could change power transfer to a waterwheel.
Embodied Water Race: Students raced to fill five-gallon buckets! This activity connected water consumption to everyday items, like a single sheet of paper can require over a gallon of water to produce!

The goal of the festival was to help students dive into the water related issues that face the South Platte River Basin, to understand where our food comes from, and to become better stewards of our natural resources.

A big thank you to our team members for making this experience possible:

We are proud to support the next generation of environmental stewards, helping them see, touch, and understand the role water plays in their world.
