About me

Dr. Saeed Azad

Postdoctoral Fellow, Systems Engineering Department, Colorado State University

I'm currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Systems Engineering Department at Colorado State University, working with Dr. Daniel Herber. My research is focused on computational design, uncertainty modeling and quantification, design and control optimization, multidiscplinary design optimization, data-driven modeling and decision making, and artificial intellegence. I am interested in applying these techniques to real-world engineering problems in the energy sector (such as wave energy converters, floating off-shore wind turbines, etc.) as well as mobility systems, including automotive, aerospace design challenges.

I received my Ph.D. degree from the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH, USA, in 2020, and my M.Sc. degree from Alfred University, Alfred, NY, USA in 2016, both in Mechanical Engineering. After graduating from the University of Cincinnati, I joined the Physics, Geology, and Engineering Technology Department at Northern Kentucky University, where I taught courses in the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Technology program. As a Postdoctoral Fellow at Colorado State University, I have been working on multiple projects, mainly focused on uncertainties in control co-design and wave energy converter farms.
