Below is a checklist of Skylab-mission Earth imagery on postal items (stamps, souvenir sheets, aerogrammes, postal cards, etc.). Catalog numbers, years of issue, and notes on the items featured are given when available. If readers know of additional information or images, please contact the authors using the e-mail addresses at the bottom of this page.
| Skylab Mission | Dates | Event or Astronauts |
|---|---|---|
| Numbered Skylab missions | ||
| Skylab-1 (SL-1) | 1973-05-14 | launch of the un-manned Skylab |
| Skylab-2 (SL-2) | 1973-05-25 — 1973-06-22 | Conrad, Kerwin, and Weitz |
| Skylab-3 (SL-3) | 1973-07-28 — 1973-09-25 | Bean, Garriot, and Lousma |
| Skylab-4 (SL-4) | 1973-11-16 — 1974-02-08 | Carr, Gibson, and Pogue |
| Skylab-5 (SL-5) | 1979-07-12 | re-entry of the un-manned Skylab |
Some numbering confusion exists because the first mission, the un-manned launch, is sometimes ignored, so that the three manned missions are then called Skylab-1, 2, and 3. However, the official identification and numbering of the Skylab missions is Skylab-1, 2, 3, and 4 as defined above. In this website the official numbering is used.

| Ascension Island | 183 (Mi183) | 1975 | "From photograph of island taken from Skylab-3, 11-1-1973 from a height of 240 miles"; the date may mean 11 Jan 1973 or 1 Nov 1973; in either case, it is impossible that the image be from Skylab, since the station was launched only in May 1973, and was unoccupied on 1 Nov 1973; the source of this false-color depiction is unknown. For comparison, here is a high-resolution image of Ascension Island taken on 24 February 2003 by the Ikonos-2 satellite. | |
| Ascension Island | 184 (Mi184) | "From photograph of island taken from Skylab-4, 3-1-74, from a height of 267 miles", but that is impossible if the date is interpreted as 1 Mar 1974, since Skylab was unoccupied then; it would be possible if the date refers to 3 Jan 1974, but no such Skylab image is known to the authors; the source of this true-color depiction is unknown. For comparison, here is a high-resolution image of Ascension Island taken on 24 February 2003 by the Ikonos-2 satellite. | ||
