We started the Red Cedar Trail in Menomonie, and rode to the intersection of the trail with the Chippewa River Trail and then back to Menomonie - a total of 31 miles. In our estimation, this is a very underrated trail. It follows the Red Cedar River with beautiful scenery all the way.

The following three photos were taken at the trailhead in Menomonie.

The trail crosses the Red Cedar River twice. This is the first crossing.

TJ's Inn in Downsville. The town is difficult to see from the trail, so be sure you don't pass it by. It is the only place to eat along the trail.

The second crossing of the Red Cedar River near the end of the trail. A beautiful spot that attracts both sun bathers and fishermen.

This is the official end of the trail where it turns into the Chippewa River Trail. In less than a mile the trail meets a 7 mile side trail to Durand (second photo showing sign posts) which appears to be the intersection of the Chippewa River Trail and the Red Cedar Trail.
