Dr. Malaiya received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Utah State University in 1978. He joined Computer Science Dept at CSU in 1982. His interests include modeling and testing hardware and software defects, evaluation of reliability and security, and economics of security breaches. He teaches graduate level Fault-tolerant Computing both on campus and on-line, in addition to undergraduate classes in Computer Organization, Computer Architecture and Operating Systems. He has organized several international conferences and had edited collections of papers for IEEE Computer Society on Software Testing and IDDQ testing. He is a recipient of the IEEE Third Millenium Medal. His contributions include the concepts of Detectability Profile, Antirandom Testing and the Alhazmi-Malaiya Vulnerability Discovery model.
